This beautiful early 20th century gargoulette or chevrette from Provence in France is made of clear terracotta and glazed on the upper half. These typical mediterranean jugs were generally used to contain water or wine, which the porous terracotta helped keep cool.
The surface is in good condition with the exception of a very light, nearly invisible hairline crack on the rounded part of the pot.
