£850.00Price

A beautiful oil on canvas depicting a vase of anemones and a lemon, painted by Marcel Caud. Marcel Henri Léonce Caud was a French artist born in 1883 and who died in 1966. Born in Paris and active in Montrouge throughout the first half of the 20th century, Caud was an artist who painted many still lives in a post-impressionist style, but who was also known for his copies of Old Masters and classic 19th century works commissioned by private and public clients. One of these was a beautiful madonna copied from the work of primitive artist Enguerrand Quarton on behalf of a church in Northern France.

His works have exceeded £3,500 at auction at Christie's.

This oil on canvas is overall in good antique condition, but presents a few areas of slight  loss. This doesn't affect the vividness and beautiful texture of the oils, but we will make sure to pack it extra carefully to make sure it travels safely.
